I’m not calling it a funk. I’m calling it having-melanoma-removed-from-my-leg-so-I-might-be-acting-strange-especially-since-there-seems-to-be-a lot-of strange-things-happening-around-me-in-addition-to-the-cancer.
Weirdness has permeated my life.
Goodness too:
Only having Stage II Melanoma!
Becky coming to Holland to eat cheese!
Michael talking deep Star Trek!
The Peter Berghoef Memorial Weekend Nano Mix Spectacular!
Timshel!
Hammock season!
This American Life Season 2 on DVD!
My best friend from high school swinging through Holland in July!
The Davisons are coming! The Davisons are coming!

hmpf
I’m in a bad mood. I think it’s the lack of exercise, my slow gimpy self, the prospect of being at the library seven straight days in a row, a wedding I don’t want to attend, a Poe/Grace situation that doesn’t seem to be improving despite me desperately wanting it to improve, impending rain, some people’s dumb faces, not having a ride home tomorrow night from work and virtually no options, knowing everyone can listen to the new Wilco album but me, bitch, bitch, bitch, moan, moan, moan.
There are numerous reasons I shouldn’t be in a bad mood. The Farmers Market started today! I haven’t heard from my dermatologist which is only a good sign! I will eventually be able to run/walk/bike again! I have a job that more than adequately pays for my life! I have a job that I don’t completely hate! I got my summer reading tshirt today and it’s purple! I get to cook something yummy tonight! I’m going to Pitchfork! We got a free nano! We’re thiiiis close to being able to buy our MacBook! Becky’s coming to visit soon! Lost’s season finale is on tonight and I get to see it!
I only have to endure 26 minutes more of work!

there is no hidden message. it's just randomness.
I am a fast shelver. I am a fast shelver because I like the alphabet, I am genetically predisposed thanks to my Mom, and I practice practice practice.
Three bottles of red wine between two best friends will most definitely result in a hangover.
There is little in Holland not within biking distance.
Even snot-bubble blowing drool-y babies are adorable when they fall asleep on you.
Tulip Time is not the abomination I once thought. It’s actually kind of nice and pretty. Plus, you know, fireworks.
Memorial Day weekend will just work itself out.
My life may be predictable, but at least it’s drama-free.
I never tire of Blitzen Trapper.
Science tells me that to avoid getting sick I just need to wash my hands. This has been my plan since I was about 6 years old. I’m sticking with it.
