it's not my fault i'm a geek. i was born this way.

I cannot help but love this.

because i felt like it

My first week of 40 hours and the little baby Jesus sends me a snowstorm to get me out of the library after only 3 1/2 hours of work yesterday. It may or may not have helped that I asked the boss how it felt to be the most hated man in the building when I first got to work.

I am cheeky.

I'm officially half finished with Anna Karenina. The vodka references are becoming more frequent and delicious sounding:

The men went to the dining room and approached the table of hors d'oeuvres, set with six kinds of vodka and as many kinds of cheese with silver spreaders or without, with caviars, herring, various tinned delicacies and platters of sliced French bread.

The characters are also so alive I'm starting to despise some I previously loved and find those who were boring much more interesting. Bound to happen when you're dealing with an 800+ paged monster.

My flickr account is officially active now thanks to me taking a bit of time to figure out how to post to my account from my phone. I've been told having this feature could get me into trouble as sometimes people take pictures and post things they normally wouldn't if, say, they hadn't consumed a martini or two before supper. I am not afraid.

I'm also reconsidering this whole twitter thing though I'm still unsure what the value is. Plus, to be perfectly honest, I'm starting to get a little social networked out. Between the MySpace and the Facebook and the blogging and the flickr and the constant reminder to everyone who has gmail when I'm actually online I'm starting to feel a little exposed. I'll think about it. Or rather, as someone else once told me, I'll stop thinking about the twitter and just join.

I sat at lemonjellos this morning with my book staring hungrily at everyone with a laptop. I have such a love/hate relationship with technology. Is a laptop really a necessary purchase? Would I use it for good or would I needlessly waste time? I want one. Bad. Every time I see the commercial for this I get a little tingly and excited in my girly parts. I need to start either saving or setting my sights a little lower because I fear this will not stop with the laptop. I will want a sweet printer. I will want a stupid ipod. It will take over my finanical life.

I'm going to go and assist people with their information needs.
