alright alright alright alright

So, Massachusetts sucks. And the Supreme Court just overturned the past 50 years of campaign finance reform.

USA! USA! USA!

I have a friend who lives in Winnepeg and she's always trying to get us to go out there and visit her so we can see how awesome it is. This year I might just take her up on it. Canada could be a nice place to live.

In other news, I'm still not a Radiohead fan, but thanks to my Animal Collective Pandora station I did actually enjoy "Go to sleep" so maybe there's hope for me yet.

It's getting on late January and we haven't had snow for 2 weeks. I'm sure that will change.

I'm watching The Wire and it's as good as everyone has said it would be.

I had my 6 month cancer check and so far so good.

Cooking has been happening. We did our annual "It's January Let's Pretend It's Summer" burgers and sweet potato fries for supper. Heavenly. My carrot ginger soup is amazing, if I do say so myself. I've recently created a pasta dish involving roasted beets, goat cheese, kalamata olives and red onion. It's almost there. And on Superbowl Sunday we're going up against Travistina and the lesbians in a chili cookoff. We've been experimenting some. I have a black bean chili I want to try. And someday I'll finally bake some no-knead bread.

Three fingers on my left hand are a disgusting awesome callousy mess thanks to a regular regime of guitar playing. I'm currently trying to master the art of strumming, changing chords and singing. It's hard. Any person who is willing to get up in front of a bunch of people, play and sing are truly awesomely talented in my book.

Medication and The Dutchess and the Duke were awesome. Next up is either Iron and Wine at Hope or Eric Bibb at the Ladies Lit.

I am knitting a beeyouteefull scarf. I don't know who it is for and I don't care. I love the yarn and it's a pretty color.

Sunday we're going to have brunch at the GR Art Museum, hit up Vertigo, and then go to Founders. It will probably be the highlight of my week.

I think I need to get out of town for a weekend. Maybe someplace south...but not too south....

Suggestions are welcome.
